Position Overview
The Service MAC Technician supports Vision Technologies’ Service organization by installing, moving, adding, removing, and modifying low-voltage cabling, devices, and associated hardware across multiple technology disciplines.
The role is intended to provide a flexible, cross-technology field resource capable of completing smaller installation activities and supporting Service MAC projects involving AV, Security, DAS, Wi-Fi, network infrastructure, and other low-voltage systems.
Service MAC Technicians are classified as Technical I, Technical II, or Technical III based on demonstrated experience, technical capability, independence, and ability to support increasingly complex work.
This role also provides a development path for technicians interested in progressing into an Assistant Service Manager position.
Role Scope
The Service MAC Technician primarily supports small installation and modification activities within the Service organization, rather than traditional large-scale project installations.
Typical work includes:
· Moves, adds, and changes to existing systems
· Installation and removal of low-voltage cabling
· Installation, relocation, and removal of devices and hardware
· Small system additions and modifications
· Equipment replacement and refresh activities
· Field support for Service MAC projects
· Site surveys and field verification
· Documentation of installed conditions and completed work
· Support across AV, Security, DAS, Wi-Fi, and related low-voltage technologies
Service MAC Technicians are expected to work across technologies rather than specialize exclusively within a single discipline.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform installation, relocation, addition, and removal of low-voltage cabling, devices, and equipment.
· Complete assigned Service MAC work safely, professionally, and in accordance with Vision Technologies standards.
· Read and follow drawings, scopes of work, device schedules, cable schedules, and installation instructions appropriate to the assigned level.
· Install and terminate common low-voltage cabling and associated infrastructure.
· Mount and install devices, equipment, racks, displays, cameras, wireless devices, antennas, and other hardware as required by the scope of work and technician competency.
· Support small installations, equipment refreshes, system expansions, and customer-requested modifications.
· Identify field conditions that may affect scope, schedule, materials, or successful completion.
· Accurately document labor, materials, completed work, site conditions, and outstanding items.
· Maintain appropriate communication with the Service MAC Manager, Service Delivery team, customers, and other field resources.
· Maintain jobsite cleanliness and comply with applicable safety requirements.
· Protect customer property and maintain professional standards while working in occupied customer environments.
· Use Vision Technologies systems and tools for work assignments, documentation, time entry, and project/service updates.
· Escalate technical, scope, scheduling, or customer concerns when appropriate.
· Support other Service technicians and technology teams when field assistance is required.

Technical Requirements
Technical I (Entry Level)
Experience
· Entry-level to developing experience in low-voltage installation, structured cabling, telecommunications, electrical, construction, or a related technical field.
· Previous field installation experience preferred but not required where appropriate technical aptitude can be demonstrated.
Technical Skills
Technical I is primarily responsible for installation, moves, adds, changes, and removals under the established scope and direction.
Expected capabilities include:
· Install and remove low-voltage cabling.
· Install cable supports and basic pathway components.
· Pull, dress, label, and terminate common low-voltage cable.
· Install, relocate, replace, and remove devices and hardware.
· Perform basic device mounting and equipment installation.
· Follow provided drawings, device locations, and installation instructions.
· Use basic cable testing equipment.
· Maintain accurate documentation of completed work.
· Identify installation issues and escalate them to the appropriate Technical II, Technical III, or Service MAC Manager.
· Demonstrate basic computer and IT literacy.
· Work effectively under the direction of a senior technician or manager.
Technical I is expected to execute defined work correctly and consistently but is not responsible for independently determining project scope or estimating new work.
